Mezzanine Debt

Mezzanine Debt - Mezzanine Debt, combining lower-priority debt with equity options such as stock warrants, seems more like equity financing than debt financing. Sophisticated investors use it to finance acquisitions and buyouts. In the event of a bankruptcy, the debt aspect of the Mezzanine Debt financing gives the new owners priority ahead of other owners of the company.
