Employment Development Department



Employment Development Department or EDD - The California Employment Development Department (EDD) and its equivalent in other states is responsible for issuing employer account numbers (sometimes called state employer identification numbers, SEINs, state ID numbers, or reserve account numbers) and administers state payroll taxes, including Unemployment Insurance, Employment Training Tax, State Disability Insurance, and State Personal Income Tax withholding.
